A busy day ringing for remembrance, starting with half muffled tolling of the tenor for the 11:00 outdoors service. However, the highlight was the Ringing for Peace performance tonight of the 8 air cadets we have been teaching for the past year. They were brilliant! It was intended to recruit 1,400 bell ringers over the past year in remembrance of the 1,400 ringers who died in the Great War. Over the past year they would learn so they could ring tonight. Nationally, 2,640 were recruited and these were the 8 from Witney. Proud of them all. With grateful thanks to all the helpers who have assisted Carol, Rebecca and me over many months.
