Saturday 13 June 2009 Alvescot

The Striking Competition this year was held at Alvescot, where we enjoyed a great barbecue for which thanks goes to Alvescot team for all their hard work. John White kindly agreed to judge for us again, along with Hilarie Rogers.

Congratulations to Wootton for winning the Call Changes category. The results are as follows.

1st Wootton with 26 faults

2nd Woodstock with 44 faults

3rd Church Hanborough with 55 faults

There were only three teams in the Call Changes, at least I suppose we can claim we came third.

We had five teams entering the Method category and congratulations to Witney, who entered at the last minute.

1st Witney faults 38

2nd Church Hanborough 39 faults

3rd Woodstock 51 faults

4th Wootton 53 faults

5th Alvescot a few more

It was a most enjoyable evening, the weather was very kind (which I had ordered in advance). Many thanks to John and Hilarie for judging and to Alvescot for letting us use their bells and all their work with the barbecue. Thanks also to Liz Lawrence for all her help in organising and to all the teams who entered, without which there would be no competition. Lastly a thank you to Whites of Appleton for putting the clapper back in the treble at the last minute.
